We received word on August 30 that Dr. Kleinig is scheduled for angioplasty on Sept 1 in Australia (August 31 here in the US) to address some blockages in several coronary arteries. While we are of course disappointed that he will be unable to travel to the US and join us for the Sept 18-19 “Theology of the Body” Insight conference, we rejoice that his physicians have detected this condition and are addressing it. We invite you to join us all in prayer that our heavenly Father would graciously attend him and the medical personnel who care for him so that he may be restored to health in accordance with His will.
We will be refunding the registration fee for this scheduled Insight conference in Waukesha and look forward to rescheduling the conference next year when Dr. Kleinig’s new book on the biblical vision for the body, “Wonderfully Made,” will be available.
Theology of the Body
Dr. John W. Kleinig
Professor Emeritus, Luther Campus
Schoenstatt Retreat Center– Waukesha, Wisconsin
September 18-19, 2017
With Harold Senkbeil and Beverly Yahnke, Executive Directors
and DOXOLOGY Fellow Brady Finnern
Conference topic: “Many of the most controversial issues in society and in the church have to do with the body. Torn as many are between idolatrous admiration and destructive contempt, they do not quite know how to regard their bodies or what to do with them. In this conference we will consider how God the Father regards the bodies of all people which He has created in His image as well as the bodies of those whom He has redeemed and sanctified for eternal life with Him. The aim of the discussion will be to see our bodies as holy in God’s sight through faith in Jesus and to treat them as holy in our sexual behavior.”
Registration and lodging cost: Limited retreat center lodging is available. Each room has its own sink but will share one bathroom with another lodging room. Single occupancy lodging registration price is $185 (includes program, materials, 3 meals, breaks, evening reception, and lodging).
