Has American Christianity Failed?

September 21, 2019 — Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Davenport, IA

The Rev. C. Bryan Wolfmueller

DOXOLOGY Collegium Fellow and Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Austin, TX

Has American Christianity Failed?

American Christianity teaches the centrality of the individual—my will, my experiences, my decision, my heart, my work, and my dedication. Christ and His saving and comforting work are being lost. Our minds and hearts are captivated in some way by those who often preach the Christian instead of Christ. We’ll consider the major themes of American Christianity, and how Scripture offers an alternative of comfort and peace in Christ.

The Rev. C. Bryan Wolfmueller

Pastor Bryan Wolfmueller is pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Jesus Lutheran Church of the Deaf in Austin, TX. He served as pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Aurora, CO from 2005-2019.

He is the host of Cross Defense, co-host of the Table Talk Radio podcast, posts videos on YouTube at wolfmueller1, and has a number of other theological projects that all end up on his blog, www.wolfmueller.co.
